Ring has announced the latest model in its Video Doorbell line, resulting in the most advanced battery-powered video doorbell that the company has produced so far. The Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro is packed full of features to keep you up to date with what’s happening outside your home.
One of the exciting additions is Bird’s Eye View. This was introduced on some Ring cameras in 2023, but now comes to a battery-powered doorbell. This technology takes advantage of 3D Motion Detection, and uses radar to more accurately pinpoint motion in front of the camera. You’ll be able to more precisely define zones, so you’re only getting alerted when it matters, with a top-down map so you can see exactly how people moved across your property.
There’s a whole host of advanced features that Ring offers that goes beyond the high-quality video that’s captured. You get night vision so you can see in all conditions, there’s HDR capture too for more lifelike video, so you can really pick out what’s happening on your doorstep. Via the Ring app on your phone, you’ll always know who’s coming and going.
Being battery powered means it’s really easy to setup and install. I’ve used many different models of video doorbell and Ring’s battery-powered devices are great because you really only have to put the mounting plate on the wall or door, secure the Video Doorbell and connect to your Wi-Fi. You’ll be up and running in no time at all.
You’ll need a subscription to access all features
To get the most out of your Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro, you’ll need a Ring Protect plan that will give you access to rich notifications, person and package alerts – as well as video storage for up to 180 days online, so you can look back at what happened, share and download videos. A Ring Protect subscription costs from £3.49 a month, but if you have more Ring cameras, then the £8 a month subscription for all your devices might be of more interest.
Video doorbells have been one of the breakthrough piece of smart home tech that have proven really popular. Whether that’s because you have a lot of callers at your home when you’re not there, because you get a lot of deliveries, want to know when the kids are coming and going or because you struggle to make it to the front door because you’re working in the garden, video doorbells are well worth their asking price.
The Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro does pack in a lot of tech – and there are cheaper models from Ring and Blink that you might consider – but if you want the best, then the new Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro might be the model for you.
The Ring Video Doorbell Pro costs £199.99 from Amazon, Ring and other retailers, and it will be available from 20 March.
