It doesn’t feel like all that long ago we were talking about the second generation of Sky Glass, aptly named Sky Glass Gen 2, but when Sky announced that TV, it also gave us a sneak peak at a what was coming down the line.
When I first heard the name Sky Glass Air, I immediately thought it would be a more premium, slimmer version of the Sky Glass Gen 2, similar to the stance Apple takes with its standard iPad and iPad Air ranges.
But that’s not the case. Instead, the Sky Glass Air is slimmer, though it’s a cheaper and less premium version of the Sky Glass Gen 2, making some compromises in order to hit a lower monthly payment. I saw Sky Glass Air in the flesh at Sky HQ and here’s everything you need to know before it goes on sale.
What is Sky Glass Air?
Sky Glass Air is the latest all-in-one TV solution from Sky that features Sky built into, negating the need for a satellite dish or box. It aims at the value segment of the TV market, and it features at 4K HDR Quantum Dot screen.
The Sky Glass Air runs on Sky OS, the same as Sky Glass Gen 1, Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Stream. It means you could have a Sky Glass Air in the bedroom and Sky Stream downstairs and you can continue watching where you left off and that doesn’t just apply to Sky content, but Netflix too.

There’s hands-free voice control on both the remote and the Sky Glass Air TV itself, and Sky OS is simple to navigate, offering rails and rails of content, as well as support for all the major streaming services.
You can’t record on Sky Glass Air like you can on Sky Q, but there is a feature called Playlist that allows you to add content you might want to watch so you can stream it on demand when you’re ready. Just like Sky Glass Gen 2, Sky Glass Air requires an internet connection to access content.
What’s Sky Glass Air like?
Sky Glass Air is nowhere near as premium as the Sky Glass Gen 2, in that it opts for plastic over a metal frame. I really liked how slim it was compared to Sky Glass Gen 2, but you lose out on a couple of things because of that, predominately the sound system.
Unlike Sky Glass Gen 2 that has seven speakers built-in with Dolby Atmos, Sky Glass Air opts for a 2.0 audio system. It supports HDMI eARC so you can add your own soundbar but the slim profile means you miss out on one of the biggest benefits of Sky Glass Gen 2.

Sky Glass Air comes in three colour options of Sea Green, Carbon Grey, and Cotton White. I personally liked the green the most as I thought it looked the most interesting. The matching coloured remote is a nice touch too.
It was difficult to judge the picture quality during my hands on session, but I suspect most people will be happy enough with it for a second TV. You can buy OLED TVs for the same price as the Sky Glass Air so if you’re looking for the best picture quality, you may want to shop around, but if you want a single box solution without the high monthly cost, Sky Glass Air could be a great option.
How much is Sky Glass Air?
Sky Glass Air starts at £6 a month for the 43-inch TV, £10 a month for the 55-inch TV and £13 a month for the 65-inch TV and all have a £20 upfront fee. The monthly payments are paid across a 48-month contract, which means the 43-inch TV costs £288 in total, the 55-inch costs £480 and the 65-inch costs £624 in total.
There is also 24-month contracts available, with prices doubled at £12 a month, £20 a month and £26 a month respectively, or you can buy the TV outright at £309 for the 43-inch, £509 for the 55-inch and £649 for the 65-inch.

Those prices are for the TV alone, however. You will also need to factor in a Sky subscription to get the most out of Sky Glass Air. The base Sky Essential TV package starts at £15 a month for new customers, and includes over 100 channels including Sky Atlantic, Netflix, and Discovery+.
For access to channels like Sky Max, Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, Sky Crime, Sky History, Sky Showcase, you’ll need Sky Ultimate TV, which costs £22 a month. Sky Movies and Sky Sports are also extra a month so make sure you factor that in.
Sky Glass Air goes on sale on 10 June, 2025 through Sky. You will also be able to buy it through Curry’s from 18 June, 2025.
